Happy Christmas

From everyone at Selwyn Gallery we hope you have a happy Christmas and a great New Year.
We are open right throughout the festive season (bar the old stat days of course) from Tues - Sun 10am-4pm.

We are currently exhibiting from our stock gallery so the collection varies from week to week. There are local artists alongside national and a mixture of mediums on display.

I'm particularly fond of Jan Mitchell's Cow paintings - I've been having an internal battle with myself about whether I can justify buying them for myself when I should really be buying for others! If you get to the gallery and you can't see them then you'll know that I have decided to treat myself! There is also some rather tempting and very beautiful jewellery, for those in need of New Year bling.

I'll add some images shortly of current works available but in the mean time I hope you have a fantastic Xmas with your family and friends,

Lucy

Seasons Greetings

It is hard to believe that another year has passed. The Arts Council has had another very successful year starting with Austen Deans exhibition that was extremely well received and ending the year of exhibitions with the present exhibition of three West Coast artists. It is an exhibition not to be missed. With Alison Hales horse paintings full of movement and life, and Juergen Schacke’s photographs that show his wonderful understanding of the West Coast both complimented by potter Chris Lewis with his unique sculptural forms using wood firing there is something for all to appreciate.
Remember the gallery is now open right through December and January with a wide range of artwork, ideal for gifts.
Five concerts were held throughout the year with The Sweet Adelines, the first being a sell out. 120 people thoroughly enjoyed the spirited performance. As it was so popular a Sweet Adelines concert is planned for 2010. If you missed it this year make sure you buy your tickets early next year.
